With a rich grooming career spanning since 2007, Nathan Austin stands as a seasoned craftsman in the art of dog grooming. Holding the esteemed title of a Nationally Certified Master Groomer for over 5 years, his exceptional skills have not only garnered recognition but have been celebrated in various prestigious competitions.
In 2022, Nathan clinched the coveted title of ‘Best All-Around Groomer’ at Groom Expo West, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career. His outstanding talents were further acknowledged with multiple nominations at the Barkleigh Honors Awards, including the category of Best Up and Coming Groomer. The following year he received awards for ‘Best Educational Video,’ ‘Best Entertainment Video,’ and ‘Best Instagram’ as well as being honored as the AKC Master Groomer of the Year.
Beyond his accolades, Nathan is a thriving entrepreneur and proud owner of the flourishing grooming salon ‘A Cut Above,’ situated in Castro Valley, CA, where he has passionately led the business for the past 4 years.
Kathlena Austin has been elevating the standards of dog grooming since 2007. As a Nationally Certified Master Groomer, her expertise extends beyond mere proficiency and as an open-level competitor, Kathlena remains dedicated to refining her craft, ensuring that she continues to grow and reach her goals.
In addition to her grooming prowess, Kathlena wears multiple hats, exemplifying her multifaceted passion. Serving as the Vice President of the San Francisco Bay Scottish Terrier Club, she not only showcases her affection for the breed through dog shows but also contributes to its welfare through responsible breeding practices.
As the driving force behind ‘A Cut Above’ grooming salon, Kathlena has played a pivotal role in its success. Demonstrating her commitment to innovation, she recently expanded the business with the introduction of a state-of-the-art mobile grooming unit, further solidifying her status as a leader in the grooming industry.
