I own a Lagotto Romagnolo and specialize in the breed. I regularly groom more than 20 Lagottos, and this was a very informative and enjoyable course. My technique differs in some aspects, but I loved seeing a different approach to working with their coat. I personally prefer the traditional Italian way — letting them air-dry — but I completely understand that this isn’t practical for most groomers and owners. I’ll definitely use some of these tips for pet Lagotti.

I’m lucky enough to have a family friend with a lagotto, so oddly enough it was one of my first breed grooms and finding this video years later I’m excited to implement a little more and see how my groom improves with the little tips and tricks in this video!

Nice coarse. I learned a lot. I’ve been doing 2 of them for the last year. The customer request I take the hair off the stop and make their eyes really visible she likes being able to see their hazel eyes she says. I re wet them with just water on my hands but will be trying the spray bottle this week. I thought you’re not supposed to back brush with the comb. I always only comb down with the lay of the coat but, see it’s ok to comb the hair up. I edge their ears then run a 2 comb over the top to take them down but it looks nice just edging them.
