Bad Kitty Difficult Cat Grooming Course

(14 customer reviews)

LENGTH: 20 MINS

Grooming cats in general can be a high risk job, but grooming a difficult cat even more so – especially if you are not using the proper equipment or handling! In this follow-up to her first Mane Squeeze lion trim cat grooming course, Elizabeth goes over the tools and equipment she uses to lower the risk of injury to the cat and herself during the grooming process. She also shows how she holds and handles the cat so he is supported and safe during the grooming process. The calmness and demeanor that she uses while handling the difficult cat and the speed at which she grooms is of utmost importance to ensure there is no additional stress on the cat while it receives its regular lion trim. This course is for experienced cat groomers who already have a handle on the process.

I groom cats but want to get better at it. I primarily groom dogs. I have a harder time with difficult cats and would always need help with the feisty ones. This video has definitely help, especially with how you hold that cat to get the job done.

I’ve worked on cats before, including my own, and it was super encouraging to see so many hold positions. I’ve dealt with some spicey cats and this was helpful. I am absolutely going to use the reverse tip, I’ve used it on Yorkies, it make ask much sense to apply that to kitties, too, and stop beating myself up over the finish. Stellar job, thank you.

As a dog groomer who is interested in learning to groom cats, I found this video VERY informative! I enjoyed learning about the different types of holds and techniques for cats as well as the types of safety equipment (I had no idea cat slippers were a thing or that painter’s tape could be so helpful). Elizabeth is a great instructor and has such a calm demeanor, especially while bleeding and dealing with such a challenging cat like this one! I would love to see a video on how to wash and dry difficult cats!
